But his true calling and destiny was that of teacher. His love of children, coupled with his commitment to quality education (with humor), brought John the admiration and respect from his students, which he fondly refers to as “Mr. Carr’s Stars”.
Feeling that all of his students have their own ability to shine, he assists them in reaching their full potential by providing “… a little extra buffing and polishing to bring out their individual brilliance.
Not one to limit his involvement in his student’s all-round growth potential, John frequently takes his guidance and tutelage out of the classroom and onto the baseball field and basketball court, only to further enhance his tightly woven teacher/student bond.
John’s self-proclaimed addiction to Pop Culture spills over into his personal time, as he declares he can’t seem to get enough of the old-time classics from television, radio, theater and the movies. As a die-hard Boston Red Sox fan since childhood, he declares personal gratification when the Sox finally captured the long awaited World Series Championship in 2004 that had eluded them since 1918. Go Sox!
John enjoys living in New England with his fiance,Susan (Duarte) Teixeira and his pet Keeshond born on the Fourth of July, who he affectionately calls “Sammy” in honor of Uncle Sam. He and his All-American girl are inseparable.
